Barclays Center Street Parking
Street parking in Brooklyn is feasible, but may be more or less difficult depending on the neighborhood and or timing around the Barclays event schedule. If traveling to the Barclays Center for an event, odds are there will be little to no street parking in the Park Slope area. If you happen to be ahead of schedule or are up for the challenge of street parking near the Barclays Center, be sure to read our insider tips below.
- Firstly, check Smooth Parking to see predicted availability of street parking ahead of time. Smooth Parking accounts for Alt-Side regulations near the Barclays Center and cautions towards other temporary parking restrictions.
- The quadrant in-between 5th ave, Smith St. and Atlantic Ave, there is free on- street on all side streets in the evening from 5pm-10pm. This falls just west of the Barclays Center in the Boerum Hill neighborhood. Due to residency, your options may be limited. There are many restriction for parking on 5th, Flatbush, and Atlantic Ave as well as Smith Street, so we recommend avoiding searching for street or metered parking on those streets
- Just northeast of The Barclays Center, all side streets beyond Atlantic offer free street parking from 5pm-10pm. These restriction fall under the Clinton Hill and the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhoods. With the exception of Fulton St. most street allow for overnight parking. On the weekends and some weeknights, there is no parking on Myrtle Ave. so we recommend avoiding it all together.
- Generally, there are less restrictions on the weekends in the area surrounding the Barclays Center, so your best bet to finding free street parking is then.
Brooklyn Alternate-Side Parking near Barclays Center
Alt-Parking, short for alternate side parking, are a set of NYC and Brooklyn parking regulations that allow for frequent street cleaning in order to combat the greater New York Metro ‘s excessive trash. Most areas enforced with alt-side parking are physically marked by a sign that features a red “P” that is crossed out by a broom. Virtually all of Brooklyn Heights falls under alt-side parking restrictions. All areas marked as alt-side parking are subject to suspension for holidays and emergencies, but typically are on restricted for varying 3 hour time periods.
